Let the Wild Rumpus Begin!
This post is extra special, because this cake smash session is dedicated to my son! He is my inspiration for pursuing my photography career and he is just the best thing to have happened to me. Unfortunately for him, his mama is a photographer, which means he is forever my model. I just hope he grows to be as happy in front of the camera as he is now. And man, when the camera comes out, he WORKS IT! This whole session lasted maybe 30 minutes and he was all smiles and giggles the entire time. He LOOOOVED his cake and I could not have asked for a better reaction (see below for a full nose-dive into all that sugary goodness).
His party and photos were based on the book, Where the Wild Things Are. As a kid, my mom would read this to us frequently and it's just become a childhood favorite. Most of the props for this session were found on Amazon (Amazon for the win!). And if you don't know, I have a vinyl machine (a Silhouette for those who are familiar), so I made the signs and voila, my vision came to life!
I cannot believe how quickly a year went by and I'm so happy I have these memories to look back on. I hope to add more sessions like this my portfolio because I know just how special they are!
